Hiring Immediately MissionDrivers operate city transit vehicles based on employees' license and credentials and drive fixed routes or ADA service from base to begin service on route that is assigned in the Lompoc area providing safe, reliable transportation to the public.
Profile
Essential Functions:
oSafely operates various types of buses through light to heavy city and freeway traffic in a safe and prudent manner.
oEnsures the highest quality of bus service is delivered to our customers.
oAssists customers in a safe, friendly, courteous, helpful manner.
This includes assisting persons with disabilities onto and off of the wheelchair lift, and with safety restraints, as requested by customer.
oActs as front-line point of contact to ensure delivery of quality customer service.
oComplies with all company safety rules and operates assigned vehicle to meet customer standards.
oComplies with all federal, state, and local laws pertaining to the operation of buses, traffic and safety.
Performs pre-trip inspection and completes DVIR in accordance with FMCSR to ensure bus and equipment is in safe, proper working condition.
oCoordinates detour, accident, and incident information using VMS to radio dispatch, and responds to instructions given.
oMakes effective independent decisions and handles conflicts based on experience, training and policies.
oWork a variety of hours, days, and shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and split-shifts.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
oHigh school diploma or equivalent.
oMust be able to obtain and maintain a valid California license with a Passenger endorsement and an excellent driving record.
oMust always maintain current DOT certification.
oMust carry DOT card, VTT Certificate, and Passenger endorsed driver license at all times while on duty.
Skills A valid driver's licenseSalary:
$28 per hour.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
